Background info:
The focus ring on my 55-year-old inexpensive mystery lens seized up yesterday morning and no longer turns (maybe that’s why it was priced so low).
I spent the whole day moving myself backwards and forwards to achieve focus at the the precise distance where the focus ring is stuck. I’m glad I did that for this shot.
I’ll post a few more images in the next few days.
In the interim, I need to make a decision: do I return the lens, or do I send it somewhere for adjustment?

When I look at this threedimensional wonderful photo, I know the answer: adjust it! When it was inexpensive you can get over some bucks…as you probably know: sometimes it is worth to” fight ” for something and than you know what you have on it and can “melt” through the pain with it- okay somehow solemn, but I hope everybody knows what I mean.
You created this Peter with the help of this lens (albeit a bit of back and forth)….I think the image will help you decide 🙂 to “adjust it”…or get another copy! Lovely photo Peter.
ps…I’m with Michael F on the Jupiter 9 call btw now looking at this image.
Peter,
The choice seems quite clear.

Holy shit. What a shot. Magnificent.
Love that it’s a profile shot.
You know, I don’t enter competitions, so I’m being a bit of a hypocrite here, but I reckon this shot could pretty much win top spot in the I-Shot-It competition. In fact, I think you could pretty much clean up. So much of your work is just superb. I had a look at a recent winner and quite frankly I have seen better. If that’s the best there is, this shot here has to be a shoe-in.
