I have experimented photographing from this vantage at De Mello several times in the past, but this image probably represents one of my favourite attempts.

I like how you have the two men looking in on the private women’s conversation.
By the way I have tested the Nikon 35mm f1.4, Nikon 35mm f1.8 and Sigma Art 1.4 on my D850. I had to adjust the focus to -4 on the Sigma and then found it did focus accurately. I found it had less chromatic aberration to the Nikon f1.8 and to my eye and pleasing render. It was also half the price of the equivalent Nikon so maybe that biased my decision!
Yes, the people outside, becoming part of the “story” of this image… I waited for that. Getting that, and simultaneously trying to capture a natural moment between our two conversationalists almost proved to be my undoing!
Regarding the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art… that was my favourite Art lens. You’ve made an excellent choice.
My favourite part of this image is their reflections on table.
