Leica M(240) Akademie Workshop In Toronto!

Leica M Akademie Toronto

Leica is coming to my town on July 19th (that’s less than 5 days away)!

From Leica‘s own promotional email:

“This full day, hands-on workshops are designed to help owners of the latest Leica M model get outstanding results from their game changing, digital rangefinder.”

(The grammatical error above is courtesy Leica.)

Unlike the Leica Akademie workshop of 2012, I won’t be the guest speaker, as I haven’t figured out how to “get outstanding results from their game changing, digital [M240] rangefinder”.

On a related note…

If you haven’t already done so, please consider signing my Open Letter to Leica.

(over 250 signatures so far… )

Letter signed with following observations. Every time I visit a Leica flagship store, boutique, independent dealer or high end department store, every assistant I speak to prefers the CCD sensor, I’m yet to meet one who prefers the M240. I wanted to, I was looking forward to higher ISO and video and was very excited to try one, but when i got home and looked at the pictures, I was simply underwhelmed. Please Leica, re-embrace the CCD sensor and make it even better. You have the T now, a camera with Kudos, bragging rights, quality build that will be the darling of Asia’s new wealth so that very important market is covered and you can re-position the M towards photo enthusiasts, both professional and amateur.

Maybe go along and take “the letter” so a few more people can sign it 🙂

    • Oh you are a mischievous one Andrew…

You know, if I had to choose between an M240 and any other current non-Leica camera out there, I’d still pick the M240. Such is my preference for Leica rangefinders.

Luckily though, the M-E is in production, and I don’t have to make that choice.
