Its a little secret. Actually and if you really tried it hard, you will taste that ME is a much better machine than M9 and M9P, simplier and more reliable. Most old M9 users wont give it a try and jump to M240.

Btw, looking all the way back, your Noct 0.95 photos are most unforgetabble.

        Pity. They are so nice.

        Sometimes, i have crazy idea.
I think Leica should develop a body with different ccd/cmos module chosen. Just like film. Isn’t it nice?

Congratulations Peter. From what I’ve heard it’s a great camera. I’m rekindling my love affair with the M9 after a spell with the 240. All I can say is that it’s good to he back in a simple relationship.

Great choice!! I was torn between the Me and the Monochrom. By the end I picked the monochrom for its high ISO, and kept my M8.2 for color and as B&W backup.
I simply love the CCD’s rendering so much… It’s sad seeing leica going down the CMOS path like everyone else did (but sigma). A big key differentiator of leica digital imaging got lost. Really sad.

Everything good from the M9, it’s just the colour I find unusual anyway that won’t make any difference to the images.

congrats Peter, i think you are going to have a blast with this camera. you know i switched to the M240 when you switched for the first time, and i sold it a week later. since then i have returned to the CCD and stuck with it. its what works best for me.looking forward to see new Leica images 🙂 regards Marc

    Congratulations, Peter!
I like the way you introduced your ME via John Lennon.
I always enjoy your M9 images & have missed that for some time now.
Enjoy ME & let us know how it is versus your M9/M9-P.
    Michael.

The M-E is a great little camera…………. but the colour? IMHO it should be either chrome or black..
Hope it gives you much pleasure though 🙂

Maybe Leica used the M240 for the product shots, and thats why it looks better in person than on pictures? 😉
I saw a used one at the Leica store in Berlin, and it looked very gray, but much lighter than in any pictures i have seen.

Your website was aware of the fact that you would buy an M-E one day long before you knew about it. Just look at the title section “ME” on your website, it’s been there for ages… 🙂
