And an outer confidence.
In one year, he has gone from camera-shy to a natural.
Taken yesterday on a perfectly overcast day full of earthy colours and sombre skies.

Sgt. Russell’s funeral procession.
Inspiration, Leica 50mm Summilux ASPH f/1.4, LFI Master Shot, Portrait, UniformTaken earlier this year.
Sgt. Ryan Russell was a Toronto police officer who died in the line of duty on January 12, 2011.  He left behind his wife and two year old child.
The following week, a funeral procession was held in his honour in downtown Toronto.
Attendees were from all over North America.
Toronto is a large city, that is usually quite busy and noisy. On this day, during the procession, the downtown core was eerily quiet.
The first photo was chosen as a Leica Fotografie International (LFI) Master Shot.

In this Noctilux f/1.0 image, we can see just how shallow the depth of field is at f/1.0 – indeed, the in-focus portion lies within a very narrow band.
