The new L-mount camera that will be produced by Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma is of interest to me, but not because of the camera per se.
Imagine the full frame Foveon sensor that rumour has it will appear in this camera eventually finding its way into a Leica M11.
Now that would be something.

That, would be quite something.
The very option to use an M lens on an L mount camera with a Foveon sensor is enticing, for sure…I doubt that the Foveon will arrive on an Panasonic body, but Sigma reports it will release its own body, and thus the door is opened for this magic. Now, if only Sigma can provide better software to decode the Foveon sensor or work better with Adobe to make it happen.
They need to be unique again (to many CMOS cameras)
M11 with a Foveon sensor would be interesting.
The last unique sensor in an M was the Kodak-developed CCD in the M9, and that helped sell quite a few cameras…
…but what about the Zenit??
😂
LOL, they even have my “favourite” sensor in it.
Leica glass mated to a Foveon sensor is the holy grail for some. In fact some guys have ripped the lenses off of Sigma D’s and put M-mounts on them to get a taste:

LOL, they were hacking these things together in 2013? That’s very interesting, thanks for the link (too bad they only have a couple of sample photos…).
