Other than photographing it, the only thing I did with this image in LR was bump up the contrast and clarity minimally (+6 and +7, respectively) . The rest of the appearance is consequent to the 50/1.4 ASPH lens (@ f/1.4) and the M10 sensor.
Very cool shot. I note that your daughter (I think that’s her anyway) is placed right in front of a shadowy area of the scene, making her form stand out better. I assume it was either deliberate or distinctive. Backlighting certainly helped, too.
Thanks. Yes, it’s my daughter.
You’re right about the shadowy area (the trees) in the background. I tried to photograph this scene from a slightly different angle and it just didn’t work as well.
Very good composition: regard the vertical lines( the baseball bat, the border/sideline and the legs) and the head/helmet builds up a relation to the baseball glove! I really love this! 🙂
Thank you very much Andreas.
Overall, nice film-like look. On the bokeh though: while it’s generally fine, my own preference is the Summilux-50 pre-ASPH for the characteristics of the OOF areas — have you tried it?
Yes indeed. I’ve tried both the M and special edition LTM versions:
Love the framing, color and out-of-focus!
Thank you John!

My own preference is for the ASPH version, though I can certainly understand why you would prefer the pre-ASPH.
Thanks for the comment Mitch.
