Photographed with the Leica 75mm Summilux @ f/1.4.
Though the German version of this lens may command a premium on the used market, it’s the Canadian 🇨🇦 one I prefer.

Good portrait though I would say the orange bokeh is out of place
Thanks GA!
I’ve learned over the years that the appreciation for bokeh (appearance, placement, etc) is a subjective thing, so I can’t say anything more than: I’m happy with where it is.
On a side note, I was thinking of selling this lens (!) to “raise some funds” but this portrait, and my good friend Mark ( https://iftimestoodstill.net/ ) convinced me that I was being stupid. Really stupid.
I’m sure glad you are keeping it! I’ve been really loving the results and drooling over them for sure. I’m surprised Mark has never sought one out (I know he shoots the 75/85 quite a bit). Yesterday I went back and was looking at all your 24 Lux shots as well…and more drooling!
So I suppose thank you Mark for convincing Peter!
Mark gives me good advice and I give him good advice… we just don’t know what we’re talking about when it’s about ourselves.
That 24 ‘lux… don’t get me started on it! I would really like to own one again, but I can’t at this time. It’s a “First World problem” for sure, so I’ll get over it…
Many thanks Peter–I’m glad I’ve convinced you to (temporarily) hang onto this lens.
😀
In any case, this is just a stunning portrait. And I, for one, love the orange light exactly where it is–it gives the photo a certain uniqueness and “spark”. Excellent work!
Happiness is a relative thing
As is intelligence.
Wow…..not bad for a 2007 and 2009 combination! 😀Nice Peter!
Thank you Andrew!
Peter I’m curious how much the 75 Lux intrudes into the 75 frame lines…if at all? Thanks.
Jordan, I honestly don’t remember… after a while you tend to not notice the intrusion. And the 75 “frame lines” are so incomplete as to make it an exercise in the abstract anyway!
