    This is what I would call a pleasant photo. I can tell that everything was done thoughtfully – even the way the camera was held. The subject is posed nicely and I like the perspective. You don’t get that with photos taken by hurried tourists. But I think that the background is too busy. I’m all for environmental portraits but there’s too much ‘ordinariness’ around the subject here.

    I like your choice of contrast – you could say it’s just enough, although I like it higher. 🙂 But the sky did not cooperate with you this day. The washed-out sky does take away from the scene. A beautiful clear sky would have kicked this photo up a notch.
