I’m about to go on holiday.
While I’m gone, please help keep the momentum going, and consider signing my open letter to Leica.

Who should sign this letter?
–
Anyone who wants an updated CCD sensor in a future Leica M model. Anyone who places emphasis on rangefinder simplicity and also values high image quality at low-to-moderate ISO values.
Yes, Leica, incorporate the ergonomic improvements of the M240, but help differentiate the brand from the CMOS-muddy-file-with-video/EVF-me-too landscape by bringing back an updated CCD sensor.
Please bring back a superior, simple, and reliable still-photography camera worthy of the Leica brand.
—Peter.
(and thank you to the over 150 individuals who have already signed)

With my experience on A7r, Leica needs a really Superior CCD senor to ahead of the quality game. May be a cropped IQ280 sensor.
Take Buffett’s word,”Build up your company’s Moat and.”
Its not just for your consunmers.
I have thought many times about changing from M9 to the M240, but I seem to be seeing more and more articles about the muddy files from the M240. Is there some definitive article on this issue?
Peter I responded recently to a daily post by a guy called Dan Bar (Steve Huffs site) yes it was about CCD vs CMOS. In the response or comments I mentioned your site and Thorsten Overgaards site, to my surprise Thorsten responded. I was just wondering if you copied and pasted what I said and Thorsten said to your site and hopefully your response, not so much for a debate as you may agree with him but just to get a couple of highly respected photographers talking about this intriguing subject. Just thought it would be cool.
Sorry silly request
Not really silly, but I was on holiday when you first wrote, so my apologies for the late response.
I guess I really can’t add any more to what I’ve written here – numerous times. Also, I’ve usually let my images illustrate the reasons I prefer CCD sensors. Even when I view images from individuals who disagree with me, I find their images prove my point too! But to each his/her own… all I know is that I would choose a CCD sensor every time over a CMOS one.
