Introducing the Voigtländer Color Skopar F2.5/35mm P II.
I’ve been experimenting with this lens for the last 24 hrs and, so far, I like it. Small, sharp, smooth. Its strength is in daylight shooting, not just because it is limited to a maximum aperture of f/2.5, but because of the way it holds highlights.
Images will follow — maybe in a few days — so you can judge for yourself.
Voigtländer always delivers great lenses, so I shouldn’t be surprised at the results.
In the meantime, feel free to re-visit my report on one of my favourite lenses, the Voigtländer Nokton 40mm f/1.4.
—Peter.

Hi Peter
I own this lens. I believe it is the best value for money I have ever seen in the 35mm category. Sharp across the frame and in black and white I like the change in rendering compared to that of the Leica ASPH look.
At 2.5f it is a “story telling” lens in my opinion. It ensures I move into a different way of thinking when creating the image. It may be fair to say of most lenses 35mm and wider, though at 2.5 it starts to have that effect more so than f1.4 or 2.
Have fun and look forward to the images.
Andrew
Hello Andrew, I believe you’ve now written the user report of this lens on Prosophos.com – excellent summary!
I will add that, during my limited time with it, I’ve noticed that it vignettes noticeably at f/2.5 – which may be appealing to some, and not-so-appealing to others.
Not to be daft or anything…but isn’t this a picture of the screw mount version I? (Or is that the one you actually have?)
Just curious–love the Voigtlander lenses.
In any case, it sure looks like a small and intriguing lens–can’t wait to see some pics!
-M.
You are not being daft at all. This image is from Voigtlander’s own website, funny enough. I have the newest M mount version.
By the way, my first image from this lens will be posted tomorrow.
Mark, the image has now been corrected – thanks for pointing out the error.
