Those teenage years are looming very quickly….

Might this be a taste of things to come!!

Is this your daughter telling you…”I bet you end up selling that new camera your using.”

Can’t say I’m surprised by the failure of the Sony to “connect” with you and your style. While image quality is stellar, it’s also a different presentation than the one you’ve evolved with your Leica equipment. If pressed, I’d call the Sony more “scientific” and your Leica style more “artistic”.

Not to push the notion too far, but the Sony is for “realism”, while what you pursue with the Leica tools is a gentle “surrealism” (in its original sense of mixing dream and waking perceptions, not in the grotesqueness it has since acquired).

To my inexpert eye, I’d say this still lovely image, like all RX1R images posted so far, is an example of just that difference in presentation.

I think, perhaps, its time for my second cup of coffee…

This is my favorite of the Sony images you have posted, in fact the first one I really like. I am also not surprised that you haven’t kept it.

I funnily enough am back enjoying my DSLR and am even considering buying the D600 or D800E. Not sure I will as I am almost totally uninterested in GAS for the moment.

Funny enough, I really enjoy what you’re doing with your D700, but also very much like your work with the M9.

I think I’m finally in the same boat, camera wise. I’ve had the M9 for 3+ years, which is sort of a record for me in the digital age, and I’m intending to hang on to it.

Lovely expression captured here. Indeed the teenage years will come around quickly – I’ve seen this with my own nieces! Lovely that you’re capturing so much of this, you’re building a rich archive to draw upon.

A question for you Peter: Do you print your images – for yourself I mean? In the digital era I’ve done so a lot less, something I fully intend to change. There’s really nothing like finding a shoe-box full of old photos in the loft… or an old album with those shots that mean something only to yourself.

Thanks for the kind words on my own photos too.
