Sorry forgot to add this to my earlier nominations for best of 2013!! 🙂 up to 3 now…

I have kept coming back to this image which is a sure sign it’s got me. Geometry/balance, light and subjects…..

Remind me of the the other two, when you get a chance…

This was a difficult one to get, for many reasons. I was fortunate to have nailed it.

          Thanks again Andrew.

    Dear Peter,
I can safely say that here we are on another planet, and definitely a better one!
This is a great image that incorporates some of your best skills, framing and pp wise. As a fan of yours, I was not completely convinced about your recent MM work. In my opinion, part of the problem was due to the 90 APO and not the MM itself. Two of my favorite MM pictures are “love and remembrance” and “the wizard of oz”, and both are not taking advantage by the use of the 90mm. But I understand the reasons why both are gone.
I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work, regardless of whether it is in colour or black and white 🙂

Best wishes to you and your family,

    Matteo

      Thank you Matteo.

This one is special, and I only had one chance at it. I can’t always be at the right place with a camera, however!

I’m convinced that, had I stuck with the Monochrom, I would have tamed those files, but the truth is, after two weeks of playing with it I realized I WANTED colour in my images. I sometimes want B&W, but I no longer want to shoot primarily in B&W, like I once did a few years ago.

As for the 90 and 28 lenses… again, for me they would have been “niche” focal lengths. I needed to shoot with them consistently over the last few weeks, however, to get a sense of whether I wanted to keep them. I didn’t, and so they’re gone.

Having said all this, I don’t disagree with a single thing you wrote above.

      —Peter.
