G’s Tomato.

2016, Inspiration, iPhone, RHM, Within 200 feet of My House™

Our son G has been trying to grow tomatoes since early this summer.

Recently he was excited to see some progress in the form of this promising fruit of his labour.  He was keeping a watchful eye on it as he was hoping to eventually serve it to us in a salad, seasoned with the basil he’s also been growing (LOL, our house is looking more and more like a makeshift organic farm each day).

Unfortunately, last night a nocturnal visitor decided to have a little nibble on it, and this is what we found early this morning  😦

Cascara, meaning husk, peel or skin in Spanish – the dried skins of coffee cherries.  Brew it just like you brew your tea!  This cascara tastes like jujube fruits, honey and dried fruits.

Under-appreciated albums.

Inspiration

Two of my favourite, but totally under-appreciated, albums of all time are:

  1. You’d Prefer an Astronaut (by Hum).
  2. Memories of the Soul Shack Survivors (by Bass is Base).

You’ve probably never heard of either of them. Completely different from each other, but both exceptionally good.

The latter was a local (Toronto) band that could only have emerged from a successfully multicultural place like this city.

The first band was from the USA, and was/is just awesome.
