The Forgenstöhn Pieff. Inspiration The Forgenstöhn Pieff 57/1.0 lens for M-mount cameras. Manufactured in 1959, this optic is a beauty. —Peter. ↑ Forgenstöhn Pieff 57/1.0 Related
Ah yes— The fabled FP-57. This is somewhat akin to catching a unicorn-riding leprechaun. Congratulations!! I am looking forward to the images.
Thanks Mark. As you can see, it’s a classic-rendering lens. At f/1 there’s a lot of vignetting, not unlike many modern ultra-fast lenses. The bokeh is swirly (some will love it, some will hate it). The overall effect is “painterly”.

Do you know how many of these were produced? I seem to remember there weren’t many.
I checked the calendar – it’s not April 1st.
It’s November, you are correct Henry.
