Yeah, what a blight the whole social media thing is. I’m documenting these scenes because of the lighting you mention, and because they reflect the reality (smart phone preoccupation) of the situation. Also, there won’t be many of these familial tableaus in the future, as the kids will start sequentially drifting away to university, soon enough.
As for the present, we still have sit-down dinners together — where we actually talk to each other — and these are some of my favourite moments. My camera is of course dormant while that’s going on.
