My father recently sent me the photo you see below.
This would explain a lot.

😂 it could be root beer….
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I like your positive thinking!
In all fairness to my dad, the bottle was empty, probably.
Rock and Roll:
“This would explain a lot.” You think? Ha. On another note, I predict another Leica in the future but maybe not.
I can never exclude Leica, but lately I have been Leica-less. I have to say, if I were to go back, it would be to a film body, since the digital offerings can’t really compete on the basis of sensor IQ.
I especially love Rock and Roll. Snappy suit, complete with turtleneck. A sweet, straight-on gaze. Rock n’rollers stance. Same eyes being used today for looking at others and the world around him.
Just keep on making and imagining images. The world is a better place because of your vision. And, possibly, music-making.
Happy 2020.
Haha, “snappy suit”, Karen that’s exactly what that is! Or at least a kinder way to say what it is 🙂
I never did learn to play a musical instrument, though I LOVE almost all forms of music.
As for my eyes seeing, they have seen a lot since that little boy was using them. And as always, you are just too kind Karen. Thank you.
The first thing I noticed was the old TV. I wonder how many of those are left in the world.
P.S. I knew you were a boozer.
P.P.S. Just kidding!
Cher Peter!
very moved by this post mon ami )))
You were and are a very important in my life ….
All my best for you and yours
Hugues
p.s. nothing is better than a good drink( or maybe the bottle ) after a photo shooting … especially ” street-photo ” :-))
Hello Hugues. I don’t know if you remember me, but about 10 years ago when I first purchased a Leica M9, we would share comments about our images on DPR’s Leica forum. I used the name, “Fenway.” I was only on the DPR forum for a few years. I believe that I first met Peter this way as well. Although I don’t comment a lot on Peter’s website, I read and enjoy all of his posts, including these wonderful and touching images of his youth. You and Peter have influenced my photography and your comments about my images were kind and always helpful. I consider you and Peter wonderful photographers but more importantly wonderful people. It was nice to see your comment on Peter’s site. Happy New Year to you both. George
George, I fondly remember the “Fenway” times and miss the old gang over on DPR. I want to thank you very much for your very kind sentiments and agree with your thoughts about our mutual friend Hugues.
Hugues, I’m always wondering about you – where you’ve been, what you’ve photographed. I am very happy to learn that you are still out there doing your thing. And such an incredible job you do… you are inspirational mon ami, and an important part of my life as well. One day, I hope to meet you, George, and my other friends here in person — all of us with a camera, and yes… our beverage of choice 🙂
Hopefully we will have this drink all together …
With my warm though for you mon Ami Peter !
