I love these recent two shots, particularly this one, as it conveys a peaceful mood. Not peaceful as in Christmas Eve, but peaceful as in a place that’s usually busy with activity, but is now dormant. The inclusion of the figure is a beautiful touch, too. They must be thinking, in this silence, of the sounds and noises that were here, not that long ago, and that will be here again, months from now.
There is a thing, or a concept, about man-made structures in balance with nature. The design of this structure says ‘clubhouse’, even before you notice the details that mark it as such. The classical architecture is of course warm and inviting. That lovely expanse of ground helps make the scene. It wouldn’t work as well if there was all sorts of stuff there.
