On a slight tangent, I am reminded of an idea that I had a long while ago. If I ever had children, I would take photos of them, just like most people would. However, I would not show them the photos until they were, say, 18. I would also encourage them to document their own lives as much as possible (as you yourself seem to have done).
December babies always seem to get short-shrifted when it comes to gifts, but we aim for familial equanimity via a complicated wealth redistribution system administered with an unerring precision by our President and CEO (Mom).
