Two grand, just over 1.4 lbs (635g) and nigh 4″ (100.5 mm) long. The 28/1.8 @ $700, under 12ozs (330g) and 3.2″ (81mm) long. Only knock on the 1.8 is quite a bit of field curvature. I know the old 28/1.4 was “legendary”, but at triple the price over the current 1.8, this one better be pretty special. I guess that 70-200/2.8 you recently used shows Nikon still can make (at a price) excellent lenses, so we’ll see. Or, rather, somebody will see. I recently released all my Nikon (and everything else) gear in favor of an X Pro 2 graphite… and a new (to me) Bryston amplifier. yikes 😉
For me, it’s interesting to see an update on this lens, as the previous one was well regarded.
Hope your X Pro 2 and Bryston are treating you well Greg!
