Nice framing on this one, the top 2 look like they are having a great time, and you shot them just before they lost it.
On a side note does any one know if all M9/ME sensors corrode, just curious as mine is ok but I am not sure if Leica would replace it just as a precaution I rarely shoot over f2.8
Ian, I’m pretty sure under the right circumstances (humid environments) ALL of the M9/M-E/MM1 sensors eventually develop this problem. Sorry to say.
On a related note, I’ve had a few people write to inform me about Leica’s new policy (about no longer paying for corroded sensor replacements) but I had already received the notice directly from Leica. For what it’s worth, I believe it to be a really dumb move on their part.
I for one will think twice about buying another (digital) Leica camera again, and that’s despite the fact that both of my M9s have had their sensors replaced with new ones.
Thanks Peter, Adelaide where I come from is not a humid place more of a dry heat so hopefully ok. I think from memory Leica’s original statement said people who shot over F5.6 and more seemed to have the problems, so I will stick to 2.8 and under and see what happens. M240 is now the workhorse M9 the love child even with its stupid sensor. ☺️
