Even though this lens is not known for low light photography, I’ve been using it frequently inside the house.
Technical: 1/30 sec | f/3.4 | ISO 640.

Goes to show if using the camera properly just how far the M9 will go in low light! Lovely photo Peter.
Andrew, I only shoot the M9 at ISO 640 (day or night)! For night shots, I just crank up the exposure in LR and it’s “all good”.
Back in 2007, I thought I needed high ISO, so I bought a Nikon D3. I quickly realized that high ISO is overrated:

Yes it certainly is overrated. That said though the Nikon D750 is superb imo if it’s required. That’s very rare though.
Thanks for sharing the technical info, Peter. Very useful, as I’ve been wondering what ISO you are comfortable with on the M9 in low light. Your pictures, of course, are fantastic. Happy new year to you and your family!
Thank you so much Will! I try to include the EXIF every so often, if I think it may be instructive.
Happy New Year to you and yours as well!
This is beautiful in so many ways…. composition, lighting, mood, main subject(s), environment. Lovely.
Oh, and, masterfully done.
Thank you Karen. I expect that these images mean more to me than anyone else, but it’s nice to know that they are appreciated by you and others.
