    Hello Peter,

I been meaning to send you a quick note after your response regarding your 75mm Summilux. I was surprised that you no longer own the D810 and lenses. I’m curious as to what brought you to the decision.

I borrowed a D800 for a few days this summer and while it was nice having autofocus, I was not as happy with the pictures. Almost as important to me, I just adore the M9 size and build quality. I can’t believe and am thrilled the design is as old as it is…yet still a wonderful camera, maybe best for me.

Anyway, thanks for continuing to share what’s possible with the M9. You have certainly pushed me to try harder and learn more about post-processing so I can get my pictures to where I want them.

    John

P.S. Here is a quick picture that I took this morning as my daughter was ready for school (M9 & 90mm Elmarit-M). Makes me laugh as she had to have that camo jacket.

Thank you, Peter, for your efforts on behalf of all of us who want this. frankly, I would be happy if they just continue to make sure that there were new M9s or M-Es for us to purchase. i’m perfectly content shooting these cameras for the rest of my life. I bought a Sony A7ii, an adapter for M lenses, and shot it for like three years. I just recently sold it to KEH. it was great to be able to see the photograph I was taking before I hit the shutter, but somehow it just wasn’t photography to me. The M9 sensor is really all I need. that’s not to say I wouldn’t like a 38 megapixel CCD sensor with a better LCD screen, faster electronics, and better high ISO capabilities. Something. Because as it is I will be looking only at used cameras in the M9 family … for as long as i’m shooting. Anyway. Thank you again.
