Lovely (lady, light, elucidation, & lens). These portrait images are often some of my favorites of your work. Has the 90 ‘cron been recently re-acquired? Checking back, it seems nearly 3 years since we’ve seen posts with that tag. Anyhow, it has complimented the other factors to draw this image quite beautifully.

Thank you Greg. In many ways, these sort of portrait shots are the only shots I “see” naturally… every other form of photography I create feels unnatural to me, and requires considerable trial and error to get the result I want.

On a related note, my wife will often be surprised at the outcome of these shots, because I am photographing her at the end of the day when she is tired, at the not-too-exotic location of our house, when she is not-too-fashionably dressed! But something about her thoughts, reflected in her expression, in a certain kind of light, make me press the shutter.

And in answer to your question, it’s been a while since I’ve used the 90 ‘cron, but yes I am using it.

Completely agree with the above comments. Wonderful portrait and for me this category is an area where you truly excel as a photographer. Perfect, Peter!

One can only make a portrait like this when there is comfort and intimacy. This image conveys her character in a palpable way. Nice!
