    “A connecting principle

    Logic so inflexible
    Causally connectible…”

Sting, “Synchronicity I” from the final Police album Synchronicity. I don’t think his diagonals were as refined as yours. 😉

    Mon Peter,

After long moments of absences …. I can leave a comment on your site!
The message that follows, is what I have at the bottom of my heart for your photography, and what you mean to me!
In 2 words: I love you!
At the moment, I’d have this smile and this madness I can look at the beautiful face of your daughter!
Thanks to you, I am enjoying the life! You have been the trigger for a lot of things for me, and I hope you do me not want me to write all this on your site!
You’re the cure against the gloom, and more, you are the engine of our life!

    Your soul brother.

    Hugues.

      Cher Hugues,

It is with great emotion that I read your words. You are always so kind, so humble. Always.

Photography saved my life too. And your work has given me great happiness.

      —Peter.

Wonderful framing, super sharp, contrast perfect, just a great shot. But the Bokeh @ 1.4 is not that special when compared to the Summilux 50 @ 1.4 and I would think you especially will notice that as most of your portraits shots are shot wide open. I have the Summilux 50mm ASPH and mostly use @1.4 It’s so special with M8 M9, I think it’s going to be the thing you miss most. I am sure the Otus and 800e will excel in other areas, but that magic of the Summilux is unequaled.

The bokeh is actually very good, in that it is neutral and does not interfere with the image by competing for attention with it. I’m actually more concerned with other things (including the suboptimal CMOS look – yuck!, bad shadow detail recovery, etc…), but I’m not returning to digital Leicas until they improve their reliability, so I’m going to make the best of this.
