  1. Hello Peter, Welcome back!
I like Prosophos better but however, giving a bit of thoughts, it seems that the new name (not of much uniqueness) is much more direct & humble, taking life in a simple way. I come to like it.

    1. Thank you, dear Michael. I’m not “back” yet (still in Barbados), but one of the decisions this holiday has inspired me to make is the site name change. It’s less unique, yes, but it’s also as you write — more direct and simple.

The other decisions I’ve been inspired to make will show up on this site in time…

  2. What really is important to your followers are your inspiring “magic little moments”.
    Ciao.

  3. Noooooooooooooooooooooohhhh ….. argh.. ugh… hel..p… “followed by sudden heart attack”

…Ok, I bet my petition “let’s stop Peter from thinking too much” will be signed by hundred thousand of people… Ending with the judge hitting the gavel and saying:”Home delivery of a new M9 body every 12 months for free, and an executive order of the Toronto’s Mayor of keeping you away from local camera shops! 🙂

Jokes apart, I’m a kind of emotional about these stupid details, but in the end I really don’t care about the website’s name. I’m happy if the new one suits you better.

Enjoy your holidays Peter, and see you on this pages soon!

    1. Yeah, I knew this was going to be received with mixed feelings :).

When I chose “Prosophos” I amalgamated a few ideas to create the name, and I thought it would be easy enough to remember. Boy, was I wrong! To this day, people keep asking me how to spell it, or just can’t recall it.

So… I thought of a few alternatives while on this holiday, but they all seemed too contrived or narrow in connotation, or somewhat pompous. In the end, “Photographs by Peter” seemed like the most honest and direct choice.

As in, “Hi, I’m Peter, and these are my photographs”!

      —Peter.

  4. Keeping thing simple is always a good idea. If this new name covers your thinking and plans with the site than it’s good. It’s certainly not pompous and the connotation of the site will be determined by the pictures and content anyway. I’m sure they will remain/be memorable.

Hope you have a great stay at this beautiful island. Take care and good luck with driving on the other side of the road..can’t stop thinking there! And of course that ‘reversed’ thinking during the holidays can be very liberating..

  5. Très cher Peter,

First of all, I hope the holidays are going well! … and hast strength to face the end of winter …

Otherwise, for a change? As your images always carry and transmit many emotions …. That said, I find this new title to your website, more humble, and more respectable!

    All my best wishes.

    Your friend.

    Hugues.
