Congratulations to you and your family Peter, Wonderful news.
Thank you Andrew. This is our dear friend’s first child.
By the way, I just uploaded a slightly larger version of the image (can be seen if you refresh your browser).

She’s beautiful…Congratulations Alex!

Alex, that’s a very big compliment coming from Mark… he knows how to make babies.
Thank you for the kind words Mark!
Peter, beautiful child and absolutely gorgeous shot–Vermeer like image.
Thank you gm.
On a technical note, the window light was very weak (it was raining outside) – perfect for a soft portrait but I had to shoot @ f/1.4 and 1/60 sec to keep the ISO low (320).
Thanks for sharing that.
Beautiful shot Peter. Curious if you shot that landscape and then cropped or vertical to start with? The ‘straightness’ of the lines are excellent for that width of lens.
Hi Jason. This image was shot as presented, in portrait mode, with no cropping applied.
There is a slight degree of distortion with this lens when straight edges are present in the periphery of the frame, but it’s all corrected with one click in LR5.
Congratulations, she is beatiful and… she is staring at something to take a snapshot.
Ciao.
Umberto
