Nice Peter. A little foray into a different genre I see!

Nice sometimes to change tack every now and then. Is this a new lens or an older image?

I splurged today and bought the 24mm Elmar 3.8! Nearly bought the 21mm, though 24 just that bit more versatile.

Congratulations on the lens Andrew! I’ve always been tempted by that one – I’ll look forward to your thoughts on it. Maybe you can even talk about it here in an article ;).

To answer your question, this is from a few years back. I always intended to post it, but was never 100% satisfied with my conversion to B&W. I finally got it to where I want it to be.

Thanks Peter. I head off on a long awaited planned 5 week trip with my wife and three daughters next week around the world (Italy, Austria, Germany, Paris, London & New York) so very very lucky! Bought this lens to make up a two lens kit. 50mm lux, 24mm elmar and of course the Monochrome. Nice and light. Colour would be nice for a trip like this, though following through on my plan to shoot just black and white for the for seeable future. Eventually I can see an colour returning :-)!

I trialled the 24 on an M in the store. First time I’ve used one. Used the LV focus peaking function….could see that being very useful in certain cases.

Not sure if I am qualified enough to write a review on the 24!

Well, Andy, review or not, I sure hope you send in a couple shots with the Elmar for Peter to post (you would, Peter, wouldn’t you?) to a) see some of your magnificent trip and b) to compare the lux version with the mar version of the 24. Have a great time and travel safe.

Thanks for the best wishes Greg. If I have anything worthy I’ll be in touch…….don’t hold your breath though :-)!

Actually looking forward to doing some travel photography. Have been focusing on “street” for the past couple of months as never done it before. That little assignment is winding down now.
