…..one to reproduce for 18th birthday for this young man. A career beckons.
I had my first day yesterday with the MM testing it out around the house. My first impressions are as yours….I don’t see any great need to do too much PP.
This is one of the first ones I took which was a bit underexposed initially….(seems to be a good way to go from early observations as people have said, shadows seem very good on recoverable side of things).

I see the typical Monochrom infinite shades of grey palate, that I tried so desperately to fight against in my attempt to make blacker blacks and whiter whites but, in retrospect, should have gladly accepted as the closest digital has ever come to emulating film.
Agree 100%. I think given the ISO capability and night shooting I am seeing a lot more high contrast images come about. People seem to be taking this into and overdoing this at base IOS (or thereabouts) conditions as well. IMO not required.
It’s like a battle….tones vs. contrast and clarity…..tones is winner for me, though it is up each individual.
I believe you are wise to focus on tones my friend.
Not to dwell on the past or anything…
But to think that you sold this combo just BREAKS my heart.

Excellent. Like the prodigal son, you will get the Monochrom again. It was said here first…the last of the CCD breed. It will come home here again.
