Congrats Peter! Your site continues to be very inspiring…
You deserve all the…um…(money? fame? recognition?) you have been receiving.
Seriously though: Thanks for your dedication to the art.
Here’s to another great year!
M.
Thanks Mark. It’s nice to get that sort of comment… where have you been hiding lately? I keep seeing these beachfront images from you and I *know* you’re not shooting them from within Canada’s heartland ;).
Peter,
I’ve left you a small clue on my site.
M.
Congrats Peter! I’ve been visiting the site for over a year and look forward everyday to your post.

Thanks Gage! It’s nice to know you’re still following… how’s that new “M” treating you?
Peter,
Thanks for asking. Honestly, I really like it over the M9. I agree with most that there is a difference in the pictures. Personally, I think the improved dynamic range is the key difference between the two. You definitely have to do a little more post-processing. What I like most is the improved ISO. I used to never like shooting on my M9 at ISO 800 or above unless I was going to convert to black & white but now I shoot there regularly with no concerns of increase noise. Since I shoot mostly my baby girl I need a high shutter speed because she doesn’t sit still (I can’t wait until she is your children’s age) and therefore the improved iso makes a huge difference.
Last, I recently got a hold of the 50mm summicron APO and all I can say is WOW! I was really debating if I wanted this lens because of the cost but it is very impressive. I’ll even predict that it will be one of the most sought after Leica lenses because of it’s superior image quality.

Dear Gage,
I appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed response. The ergonomics (besides the slight bump in weight) of the new M were never in doubt for me, so I’m not surprised that many cite this as a vast improvement over the M9.
So you sprung for the new 50 APO? Wow. I can’t say I’m tempted, but I’ve learned never to say never.
As for baby girls not sitting still, I’m afraid it doesn’t get much better when they’re (slightly) older, as are mine. I have a series of images I’m thinking of posting that prove my point…
Besides, as I’ve always said, if you can photograph moving kids, you can photograph anything!
Have fun with your new M and 50, and thanks again,
Peter.
Keep up the good work Peter! 🙂
Thank you Goran!
Congratulations dear Peter!
Dear Luiz, thank YOU!
Congrats Peter!
Thank you Rob.
Congrats Peter,
I’m still a newbie to your blog but I truly appreciate your pictures as they have such a genuine quality…so very refreshing compared to all the over-processed pics that I see on the net.
Best wishes for many more years with this blog.
Thank you Kevin, that’s one of the nicest things anyone could write about my images. I continue to hone my post-processing skills every day… to the point that images taken just a year ago are viewed with a critical eye, and with some displeasure.
BTW – What’s the meaning behind Prosophos?
Congratulations Peter,
I fully understand how much effort you put in to this site, long may it continue.
Cheers, Jason.
Thank you Jason.
Happy birthday Prosophos.com….
I had over 2 years of not taking photos up until September last year. After stumbling across your site Peter you have played a big part in me re-invigorating my photography.
Your website is polished, focuses on images (lucky given its a photography website 🙂 )and has a great community behind it.
As importantly your images are of life and some subjects remind us all about how fragile that can be. It provokes thought and feelings.
Well done and hope you enjoy your birthday!
Hey Andy, I didn’t realize you had taken a two year hiatus from photography…
Thank you very much for the kind words, and for your continued presence here – I always look forward to your thoughtful comments.
Sincerely,
Peter.
Congratulations Peter, for this 2 years old beautiful space.
Your images are sight for the sore eyes. This space not only inspires me but also gives opportunity to learn from you and the wonderful featured photographers.
Best wishes for more many beautiful years.
Thank you Preeti!

Thank you again for all the moments of joy.
Your friend and brother of photography!
Hugues.
Dear Hugues, “brother of photography”, you know how much your words mean to me… thank you.

Hi Jason. Thanks man! This was posted back in April, so I’m a little surprised to see your comment now, but I’m very grateful.
