Hello Peter, it is very emotional & has the intensity.
How is the MM? I have been considering this camera after seeing all your latest images. Would you say it is better to add the MM instead of the M240? I am waiting for the M240 & then suddenly I have tried out the MM last week & it is quite nice. Though M240 has its place, it seems that MM & M9-P can fulfill a lot of my crave. M240 can wait…what do you think?

      Hello Michael,

I’ve been outspoken in my opinion that CMOS sensors produce CMOS-like rendering and that CCD sensors produce CCD-like rendering, and that I prefer the CCD look.

Some people do not believe the premise of (or see a differential in) CCD/CMOS renderings, and that’s fine. Some people see a difference, but don’t care. I do see a difference, and I do care.

So, obviously my preference has been to stick with my M9, and now the Monochrom. And if I could only have one, I’d pick the M9 because with it I have the option of both colour and B&W.

One day, when nobody makes CCD-based rangefinder cameras anymore, I’ll purchase the M240, or M880 (or whatever model is out). But for now, I’ve made my choice.

As for the Monochrom… it’s grown on me, but slowly… for whatever reason. However, it’s high ISO abilities and tonality are very nice to have.

      Peter.

Thank you Peter for your fair comment. The only thing I wish my M9-P has is higher ISO. But it is ok though! I somehow am moving along the CCD path; having seen some of the images and have played with it for a while. Surely, M240 is a good camera with many operational improvements. It is very sharp with high DR. Image is DSLRish though. ISO 2000+ is very clean. But somehow I cannot help saying that the M9 images have more depth in it. Thanks again!

Jeez, pretty soon, everybody in the family will have been a “target”. Nothing fancy, just a light occasional verse:

    Hands

Her hands will ever reach to hold
The heart’s best song, no matter if
It whispers from the past, or barks
And lays its head down in her lap.
