Wow, it would appear to me that you’re getting along quite well with your new Monchrom Peter. This is a lovely photograph and the subtle tones and texture that’s been rendered is awesome!
Thanks Duane. It’s been coming slowly. I haven’t had as much opportunity to shoot so I’m experimenting close to home.
Very nice moment and image Peter. Really love the perspective from this focal length.
No doubt the 28mm will come out when the weather improves but I’ll take a guess and say this might take some knocking off for the No.2 spot in the trio.
Thanks Andrew. I have a few shots with the 28/2.8 from a few weeks ago, but I’ve been posting mostly Monochrom + 90/2 work lately so they haven’t seen the light of day, so to speak. I’m using the 90 more than the 28 as well, which makes sense and which I anticipate will always be the case, given my predilection for candid portraits. So, you’re correct… #2 will be the 90 (#1 is the 50, of course).
Peter,
I really like what your doing with the MM & 90mm summicron. What’s your thoughts on the 90mm Summicrom. My thought from the get go would be that it would compliment your type of photography very well. I find my self drawn to the 90 a lot even though I’m more accustomed to shooting a 35 or 50mm.
Thanks Gage. The 90/2 is proving to be more difficult to focus than the 50/0.95 was. However – as you can tell – I am enjoying it. And yes, you’re correct, it does compliment my type of photography well.
Also, the nice thing about the 90/2 is that it gives me a similar look to the 50/1.4, but with a little more reach (less important) and a very different perspective (more important).
Peter.
Sorry to mention it again but you should really try the 1.4x magnifier. Seriously, I’ll let you borrow mine for a few weeks (just email me).
