↑Leica M9 and Leica 28mm Summicron @ f/2.
I thought I made a comment earlier .. not sure where it went to.
I love the facial expression and the hair framing her head. Somehow the horizontal lines on the shirt also add to the defiance.
Also happy to see the cron 28 show up in your arsenal. I have long wanted one, just have to wait for one to come on the market locally (which might be never).
I had this lens for a brief period, but sold it because of the dreaded “red edge” issue with the M9. Funny enough, the Zeiss 21/2.8 did not pose a problem, even though it’s a wider lens.
For those that don’t know, “red edge” refers to the colour shifting that sometimes occurs in the periphery of images when using wide angle lenses on the M9.
Incidentally, many have used the 28 ‘cron on the M9 without any trouble, so my experience may be the exception.
Wow, I have just found a Summicron 28 at an affordable price, and now I read your comment regarding the red edging. A quick search confirms what you say. Some people praising the lens as one of the very best, and others having the red edge issue. I guess I will have to test the lens to see if it works on my camera before I can buy it, or perhaps skip it all together and get a cheaper 28 to see if the focal length works for me.
Do you know whether there is a difference in the version of the 28 cron?
There are no differences, as far as I am aware. My copy was new, and I still observed the phenomenon.
