The parade.

Inspiration, Konica Hexanon 60mm f/1.2, Portrait, Teaching point

Taken during the 2011 Santa Claus Parade, in Toronto, Canada.

The Konica Hexanon 60mm f/1.2, when shot wide open on the M9, yields a unique visual imprint that I find quite interesting.  It is, for example, quite different from what I get with the Noctilux f/1.0.

If anybody out there can articulate the differences, I’d be happy to read your thoughts.  To view a small (and not-so-rigorous) comparison between these two lenses, please see here.

Welcome back Peter. Nice to see your posts again.

This is a very strong image and great example of the Hex 60. I can’t try and describe the differences between the lenses but I do find that at night I take the Noct f/1.0 and during day the Hex. The Hex is much less intimidating than the Noct — I get a lot of comments when I point the Noct at anyone.

It’s great to be back Guy!
I too find that I use the Noctilux f/1.0 more at night than I do the Hex, although on my recent trip I took only the Hex 60 – for the reason you state and also because it is lighter – so I was “forced” to capture several night shots with it as well. I will be processing and posting the shots soon.
