I stopped using Leica cameras a few years ago. Part of me still misses using a rangefinder. None of me wants this camera.

That makes two of us, my friend.
Best regards,

Nice to hear from you Jose. I hope you are well. It doesn’t surprise me that you feel the same about this camera; may I ask what you’re photographing with these days?
I keep my M-10R and love it. However, nowadays I mostly do astrophotography, imaging nebulae, galaxies and other fun deep sky objects. I set up sophisticated computer-controlled telescopes with actively cooled cameras and love the hobby! 😃
That is so cool! Are you displaying your work anywhere?
Normally on X, I quit FB. But I am preparing an exhibit for next year with large high resolution images. I am also a regular at the specialized “Cloudy Nights” forums, where the international community posts and interacts.
ahhh, I’m not on X or FB.
I wasn’t familiar with the “Cloudy Nights” site until now, but now I see that that is a whole new world! (or, universe, lol). Please let me know when your exhibition goes live next year.
Will do.
All the best to you, my friend!
I’m with both of you!
The name ‘Leica’ is the reason it may be a success. But I doubt it will be due to ‘the experience’.
I’m not even sure the name “Leica” will be enough to save this particular model, but you make a good point that there’s a chance. The cachet that comes along with the name is still impressive, though eventually that well will run dry.
I’ve watched a couple of initial video’s and people’s initial experience with it. Both have said ‘focusing, using the focus peaking is not that accurate’. Mmmm – thats an expensive camera which is only manual focus … but apparently is not that accurate in focusing! Leica will have some work to do, to improve this in quick time I suspect.
