So sorry to hear your news. I’ve followed your blog for years and loved that dog albeit from a distance. Golden retrievers are exceptional dogs (no disrespect to other breeds) and yours was spectacularly beautiful. I had a dog called Honey too and I still miss her decades later. Here’s wishing you and your family all the best over this difficult period. At least you had plenty of time to say goodbye and you also have some truly wonderful photos of her. Best wishes, Jeremy (from England).
Jeremy thank you so much for taking the time to write such kind and comforting words.
We are definitely going to be very teary for a long, long time.
May the sun shine its warmth on you, you decent bloke.
Her name made it plain…..and your images captured her essence.
Honey. A very good dog.
I am sorry for your family’s loss of this sweet pup. She seemed to bring love and joy and companionship to your entire family. You conveyed that in your images over many years. Starting with her puppy pictures.
Thanks for sharing her. Thanks for sharing your images of family, friends, community, and the bounty of nature on your blog. Even a stranger can feel your heart as you point the camera, frame the shots, and refine them to perfection.
Sending kindness and condolences to you and your family.
When are you going to write that book?
Hi Karen,
My goodness, more kindness and comfort. Such beautiful sentiments for which I sincerely thank you.
I’m afraid “that book” will never be written. I am just a hack with less and less time available to photograph. The golden age has passed and along with it the dream of producing anything truly memorable outside of my family, which suits me just fine these days. But I thank you again for your kind words, and for noticing anything I manage to make while fumbling with a camera shutter.
Dear Peter
So very sorry for your loss. May the happy memories bring you and your family some comfort.
Kind regards,
Marco
Dear Marco,
We indeed hold those memories as something to treasure until the end of our days. Thank you, too, for taking the time to write to me,
