No comments on this beautiful, dreamy image, really? I love this shiny well-kept and polished, probably much beloved vehicle under the street lights, waiting for great outings, never to be forgotten! Wonderful shot!
Thank you Eva 🙂
I have to confess that I was charmed by this “much beloved” VW, and the scene as a whole (“under the street lights”). I first saw the vehicle while walking my dog and couldn’t get the mental photograph out of my mind so I returned to it with my camera after arriving home and dropping off my furry companion.
I have seen many blue or red VWs, but I don‘t remember having seen this type in yellow. An especially lovely color and, of course, a great picture, the same yellow reappearing in the trees, even forming a diagonal. It nicely contrasts with the blue of the dark sky. I love the composition, a master shot. The scene reminded me of the hippie generation.
Thanks Eva. I’m amazed and grateful that anyone actually takes the time to study an image these days. I think photography has become quite disposable (and voluminous), so I don’t blame the viewer for just scrolling through with nothing more than a passing glance.
I’m not saying there’s anything special here, but I did pick up on the yellow leaves mirroring the yellow of the bus. The the other thing that drew me to this composition was the string of street lights trailing away behind (forming yet another diagonal), with the nearest one acting like a spotlight above it.
The longer I keep looking at this photo the more I see! The almost square format of the image and the corresponding shape of the vehicle‘s front, the amber hue of the building in the background and the color of the VWs lights reminding me of citrine – lucky shot or skill, I just like the photo. And yes, looking for diagonals is something I learnt from your photography long ago, thank you!
