It’s been a pleasure following you these past ten years Peter. You have captured such a range of great family moments – at home, dance and baseball etc, no doubt aided by the capabilities of your (also silent) Z9. I’d love to see your thoughts on the Z9/8 platform as you have been using it (if I recall well) about 10 or 11 months now. Did you keep the M-E, M3 and M2-R? Have your thoughts on what suits you changed at all this past year. Wishing you and the family good health and fulfilment. Thanks for continuing to share the photos and reflections.

Hi Linden! Nice to see a familiar name from way back.

You’re right about my timeline for getting the Z9 last year. I actually sold everything when I bought it. I had come to the conclusion that film and film prices were becoming too prohibitive and that digital Leicas were too flaky/unreliable. It was a tough choice, as I really enjoy rangefinder shooting.

The game-changer feature for me on the Z9 was the loss of a shutter (and hence, no shutter sound) for truly silent shooting. To be able to do that and not have issues with rolling shutter or banding has been a revelation.

The Z9 is the most complete and advanced camera I’ve ever shot with and I’m so glad I purchased it.

      Thanks for your interest.

      —Peter.
