Firstly, I think no.2 is my fave out of this set. It stands out, I think, because of its simplicity and the subject’s concentration.
Secondly, I’d like to know what made you crop some of these to 4:3. Nothing wrong with that at all – every now and then I keep thinking that I need to move to Micro 4/3. It ought to be compulsory to crop to 4:3 for vertical compositions. 😉
Thirdly, these seem to show the limitations of the CMOS sensor. The light was not your friend that day, it seems, and the sensor shows that it doesn’t have the depth to handle it. The previous baseball pics actually looked pretty good, technically, given that they were shot on the same camera.
The last set utilized evening light, this set midday light.
Lighting is important (or so I’ve heard).
Having said that, I actually prefer this set.
