Aha, the first of your M images. And the first lens you ordered.

    Very nice conversion.

I wonder whether she made it all the way across the street on the line 🙂

      Thanks Guy,

This is more of a test shot (@ISO 2000!), but people kept emailing me to post something. I don’t have anything else to offer because the weather has been atrocious here and I’m stuck inside :(. Still waiting for my bread-and-butter lens to show up too…

Interesting lens choice Peter. When I purchased the Elmar it was out of that and the 25mm Bigon so be curious to see what your thoughts are over time (incidentally I did purchased the 25/28mm finder for the Elmar. Fantastic finder, big bright and 1/3 of the cost of Leica!).

I did love the 24 Lux you were using recently :-(…!!

Very very curious to get your take on processing the colour files, as I’m sure you are as well!! It will probably take a bit of time no doubt before you are happy given the M9 is wired into your brain. That will be the big test…does your signature of sorts change (not in the wonderful images of course, though in general overall palette).

    Exciting times ahead…..

Nice image as well. Has a cinematic type appeal to it.

    Dear Peter,

it is perhaps a “test shot” … However, the 21mm works perfectly in this case!
Your choices regarding the foreground, and the elements that make up the background are as always with you, very wise and they accompany the main topic superbly!

I hope you will receive soon, the rest of your equipment … (50 Lux?), I suppose! 😉

Also, I hope you enjoy the new M files? I think that although the technology is more modern … we keep simplicity that has been the strength of the Leica M system’s …

I wish you lots of fun and surprises (and for us too) with your M! (But especially with all of your wonderful family!)

    Your friend.

    Hugues.

If this is a test shot, what happens when you actually take photos??

    🙂

I quite like this! The composition is fantastic, and the treatment very pleasing. I like the slight grain at ISO 2000.

    You’re off to a fine start…
