If there is a chance, I would like to see how you work with the 21mm f1.4.
And your view on the new Sony A7R. I feel lucky that I got the M-E. Even I buy the A7R, it cost me less than the M and I could have 2 cameras with 2 lens on the go. Ideal system for me.
Perhaps not the best shot you’ve ever shown, but I do like it nonetheless. The feel is a bit rustic, and makes you feel like you’re in a busy but pleasant neighbourhood, where artists sketch, flower shops are everywhere, the birds sing a pretty song and there’s always music in the air.
This shot also highlights the importance of rectilinearity. Even the slight distortion here is evident and distracts. The 21/1.4 is amazing in that it produces so little distortion – less than almost all of the SLR wide-angle lenses that I know of. And there is no 21/1.4 for any SLR system that I know of – and even if there was it would be twice as big and twice as heavy. Not that I really like the idea of these sorts of super-fast lenses.
