It’s easy to miss this view if you walk by the window, because it’s not obvious until you poke your head through.

Hello Peter,
I had thought that the 50mm was essentially for close and medium range shots… I see that you use the 50 successfully for landscapes. Being curious, and it probably is a dumb question, but what would pull you away from the 50 to get a wider view?
To put it another way, do you find the 50 versatile to cover most situations?
John
Yes, the 50 covers most situations for me, but I tend to “see” things in 50mm terms.
I agonized about my lens choice(s) before this trip, but ultimately decided one lens would free me up and lead to more “gotten” shots than missed ones. In other words, I followed my own advice… the same advice I pass on to students 🙂
Bah. That is nothing. We have scenery like that in Edmonton ALLLLL the time.
Heh heh–Gorgeous picture. Wish I was there!
Yes, of course.
It was you who once referred to your own city as “DEdmonton”, I believe 😉
