You must be part Ninja to be so close with a 35 mm lens and not disturb this man’s reverie. Beautifully balanced and framed. Another wonderful “soft” moment in an often otherwise “hard” world. Thanks.
Hi Greg,
I love your description of the “soft” moment and “hard” world… this is precisely what I think about when I view this image.
I wish I could accept the tile of Ninja, but he was aware. I actually nodded to him before I took the shot and this allowed me to get in very close (the shot is an 8×10 crop from the original 4×6, with the far right cropped away). His “reverie”, as you put it, made the mood of this shot persist, despite his awareness.
Thanks again for the kind words.
It’s great when all it takes is a nod and the expression is so natural. This is a very nice image with excellent separation of the subject and the snow flakes in the focal plane.
Thanks
Thank you very much!
Despite his awareness its very “real”. I can’t improve on Greg’s analysis of the shot, a favorite for sure…
Thanks Jason… he was very kind and I directly benefited… I made sure I thanked him afterward.
