Beautiful and definitely movie-like. This 35/1.4 really comes alive in your hands.
Did you ever use the prior version?
Thanks Guy!
I did use the previous version and thought it was quite good – in fact, I didn’t think it could be improved upon optically (beyond perhaps correcting its well known focus shift issues – which never bothered me).
Yet Leica really did improve upon it. This latest (FLE) version just crackles with its rendering… you especially see it at close distances where I tend to shoot. There’s a hyper-realness to the images that makes me keep reaching for it. And, unlike the 50/1.4 ASPH, the rendering is not so smooth as to be sterile – far from it.
How’s that for an endorsement? 😉
Yep, that’s an endorsement allright. Almost enough to make me go trade mine in 🙂
I’m fairly certain that it’s only a matter of time… 😉
So cinematic!! Just a wonderful shot that lets your imagination fill in the blanks.
Thank you Jason!
Peter, simply great! (So, just a short comment from me today 🙂 ) Mads
Short *and* sweet comment, Mads – thank you!
Love the shot..
I have both 35 fle and 50 lux as well.. I have to say, I find myself keep using the 35 more frequent…
Thanks Nathan! Yes, something about the 35 speaks of state-of-the-art but with character. I’ve been quite surprised by this lens and it has replaced several others.
