A new lens is being worked into the rotation, starting tomorrow.
The picture says it all.
(Edit: It’s the Leica 50mm Noctilux f/1.0, E60 version)

Hi, I’m a frequently reader of your blog.
Noct F1 is my favourite lens. I love it’s swirling bokeh the most.
I tried Hexanon 60mm f/1.2 before & it is slightly sharper than the Noct IMO. Noct F1 wise have more pleasing bokeh.
Anyway, I looking forward to your opinion on this Noct F1.
Hello Choon Wee,
Thank you for the insight. In the short time I’ve had this lens (less than 24 hrs!), I’d have to agree that the Hexanon 60/1.2 is definitely sharper. And I knew a long time ago that the Hex bokeh could be more “interesting” than many lenses and often jarring and distracting – it’s not to everyone’s taste, or for every situation.
So far, I see this Noctilux F/1 is more dreamy and mellow. It is sharp (enough) and smooth at the same time. Very pleasing for portraits – more so than the Noctilux f/0.95 I previously tried.
