This is really sweet. I guess I would prefer it if the larger image we re actually quite a bit larger than what is displayed when the smaller image is clicked.

I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with your photography. Lots more DOF, lots and lots and lots of different lenses.

Thanks Guy. As for “I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with your photography”, let me know when you find out! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Seriously, I’m just following my instincts. This time around, I’ve gone for lenses that I’ve bonded with (criterion #1) and that serve a specific purpose (criterion #2).

For instance, I own two 35mm lenses – the 35 Summarit for when I’m outdoors or want to travel light, and the Nokton 35/1.2 for when I’m indoors or want a dreamier effect. I’ve chosen to do this rather than go with conventional wisdom and get a Leica 35 ‘lux in place of both, for example.

Also, I have two 75s: the 75 ‘lux for portraits and pseudo-macro, and the 75 Summarit for action, portability, and extreme detail.

Not sure that this answers your question Guy, but that’s a rough sketch of my thought process. Who knows? I may go back to a one lens set-up like I’ve had most of my photographic life…

And as for using more DOF, I guess I realized that it’s difficult to compose a shot where all the elements are in plain view but the reward is worth it if the shot is successful. I’m still a sucker for the dreamier effect a shallow DOF creates however, so don’t draw any premature conclusions about my recent efforts!
